How to refine palm oil to vegetable oil?

Generally, after pressing you can get crude palm oil, which is often called red oil in Africa. Red oil can be cooked directly, but there are many impurities in it, and with deep color and high acid value. So if you want to get vegetable oil, the red palm oil must be refined in palm oil refinery plant.

To refine red palm oil, there are four steps to do: degumming, deacidification, decolorization and deodorization. These four steps of palm oil refining processes are to remove the gum, deep color, odor and FFA in red palm oil, and purify crude palm oil to RBD palm oil.

Because of different kinds of palm oil refining machine with different palm oil refining process, so firstly you should know that there are three types of palm oil refining machines: batch type, semi-continuous type and full-continuous type.

1. Batch type palm oil refining machine

Batch type palm oil refining machine is often with the input capacity of 1-10 TPD and uses chemical palm oil refining method. There are one reaction tanks for each step in palm oil refining process, through adding something to remove the impurities out.

The cost of batch type palm oil refining machine is lower, and it is suitable for the crude palm oil with lower acid value.

2. Semi-continuous type palm oil refining machine

The semi-continuous type palm oil refining machine is suitable for the capacity from 5-20TPD. It can uses the combination method of chemical refining and physical refining. The first three tanks are same as the batch type palm oil refining machine, but the fourth step -- deodorization is different. It's a deodorizing tower which can continuously work.

Semi-continuous type palm oil refining machine is suitable for the medium capacity and can produce better quality RBD palm oil, but the cost is higher than batch type.

3. Full-continuous type palm oil refining machine

The full-continuous type palm oil refining machine normally uses dry type physical refining technology. This is the highest configuration in the palm oil refining, suitable for the palm oil refinery plant with input capacity from 30TPD to 600TPD.
